Custom Cakes

Custom cakes require a non-refundable $50 deposit at time of ordering, and a minimum spend of $100. We spend a great deal of time in the planning and communication stage for custom orders, as well as on the cake itself. If you’d prefer to order a simple cake, please visit our online store to do so.

Custom cake orders require a minimum of two weeks advance notice, so we can ensure we have time in our schedule. Some weekends in May-December of 2025 are already booked, so please do not delay. Custom cakes are not available at holidays, such as Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Buttercream Preference

All of our custom cake flavors are listed with Italian buttercream, which is a beautiful, stable, slightly less sweet buttercream. Most designs require this buttercream. If you'd prefer we use our sweeter American buttercream, please let us know below. We'll confirm what is possible when we contact you.

Design/Theme Request

Please let us know what design/theme you are hoping for. You can email photos to: katie@fromscratchbaker.com. Due to copyright laws, we are unable to design with trademarked logos/characters, etc. If you'd like, we can purchase licensed decor items and add them to a cake using specific colors. Please do not ask us to do specific characters, etc. Thank you!

Cost

I understand that in ordering a custom cake, I will owe $50 at the time of ordering, which is non-refundable. The balance will be due at pickup, or on a payment schedule outlined in your estimate.
